ydroelectric dam at Clyde Before we left Cromwell we drove into town and did more grocery shopping, Then headed out of town.We stopped and looked at the huge hydroelectric dam at Clyde behind which lies Lake Dunstan. Apparently the Clutha River is the fastest river by volume in the southern hemisphere. After standing and contemplating that fact, we then proceeded in an Easterly direction towards Dunedin.

This is to be a driving day. We had intended on spending a night in Queenstown but can't do it justice on this trip and will come back again and visit there. It sounds like it's very touristy though anyway.

New Zealand We have 250k's to cover today and there is really little to report on the trip we traveled on largely empty roads through Alexandra, Roxburgh and Milton etc.

We arrived in Dunedin at about 2pm and relaxed for the rest of the day. The camp site had only just installed wireless internet and I was the second person to use it, and I had to give the staff lessons on how to connect etc, all went well and I updated the Blog.

Then a fish supper and an early night, It's been an eventful few days and a day off is well and truly in order.
