Woke at about 6am did the obligatory ablutions had a quick breakfast packed up the camper and headed off. We got lost within 200 mtrs of the camp site but Jackie's admirable navigation skills (yes dear.......) got us back on track and we made our way through the city of Dunedin and out up the hill.

Cumberland St Dunedin This is another driving day as we want to spend a day or two in Christchurch before handing the van back on Monday and flying out on Tuesday early AM

We stopped in Timaru found (with little trouble) the top 10 camp site and struck camp.

Timaru is a port city about 200 kilometers north of Dunedin with a population of about 40,000 constructed on hills created from the lava flows of the now long extinct Mt Horrible volcano. It's a nice town but not very tourist orientated really, nothing wrong with that though..

To my total delight they are trialing a new wireless internet service at the camp site at very reasonable rates, I went for the $10 for 24 hours deal and surfed most of the afternoon away.

Cadbury World Dunedin We did walk into town though and did a bit of grocery shopping. As I said Timaru is a port town and the container terminal dominates the sky line looking out to sea from our bit of the coast but the town is fine for a stop off. It has many restaurants, fast food outlets fuel and a large Pak & Save supermarket.

Timaru should be proud that this is probably the best camp site we have been to (internet not dictating) with a very high standard through out. The top 10 (and other) camp sites in the major cities could learn much from these people but the standard has been generally high anyway.

Then later a Spaghetti meal in the camper, the odd beer and glass of wine before turning in.
