Woke early (6am) at the Northshores holiday park Auckland, We had had a good undisturbed sleep, people do seem to cooperate at these places and think of others. Even the group of bikers staying at one of the chalets made barely a murmur (Harley's accepted). The bikers arrived at about 10 pm last night but were no problems at all.

We had breakfast and left just before 10am

Worked our way back down Highway one through Auckland, yesterday was supposed to be our Auckland day, we could have shifted it to today but after yesterdays experiences we just wanted out of the city. It is certainly scenic though and when we come back one day we will definitley do it.

The countryside was a joy to see and we didn't get at all stressed today. We drove down Highway one to Highway two heading for the town of Thames where we stopped for a coffee amongst some very nice scenery.

Coromandel New Zealand Then on to Tapu for our over night stop. This camp site is more basic but functional and located on the banks of the Firth of Thames, we went for a walk along the bank and through the small town and bought some wine etc.

The town is right at the foot of the Coromandel Forest park (big hills) and very picturesque.

Had a takeaway meal from the local pub. I had a burger and it was huge we also bought some mussels without realizing that they would be deep fried (never again) and $3 bought way too many chips to eat. Tapu New Zealand
