My tool collection really came about (and here is a tip for every budding tool collector) because when I undertook a project on a bit of furniture or on the various houses we've had, I bought the right tool for the job. Obviously it always added to the cost of doing the work but it was still cheaper than paying for someone else to do it and I had the tool next time the job came along.
